25 in Darj, 5 in Darj Hills, 5 in Plains, 19 in SMC tests positive, 12 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 495 samples- 34 tests positive, 14 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 3 October 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

34 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

Out of 495 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 443 from Darjeeling, 52 from Kalimpong, 34 tested positive. 

 

19 in SMC:

19 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (15 in Darjeeling and 4 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

25 in Darjeeling district:

25 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 15 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

5 of the Hills (0 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 0 in Bijanbari, 0 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)

5 of the plains (1 in Khoribari, 2 in Matigara, 1 in Naxalbari, 0 in Phansidewa, 1 in Sukuna) also test positive.

 

12 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 12 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 10 patients of which 6 are admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 4 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There are 2 child patients in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH but no patients in the Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III), Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

14 Discharged:

14 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
