14 in Darj, 2 in Darj Hills, 4 in Plains, 8 in SMC tests positive, 6 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH, 5 child died
Out of 202 samples- 18 tests positive, 11 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 October 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
0 died
Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
40 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) are admitted in paediatric ward during the last 24 hrs, 9 of them are suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) and of them 1 is referred patient. 27 are released today after recovery.
Presently 47 Children patients suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) are still admitted and being treated. There are 139 beds reserved in the Paediatric Ward.
5 child died
5 child died of low birth weight (LBW) and other diseases like severe cerebral palsy. 4 are new born of Rajgunj, Alipurduar, Matigara and 1 is 1.5 yrs, 1 is 6 yrs old of Pradhan Nagar.
6 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 236 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 236 from Darjeeling, 0 from Kalimpong, 6 tested positive.
8 in SMC:
8 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (8 in Darjeeling and 0 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
14 in Darjeeling district:
14 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 8 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
2 of the Hills (0 in Darjeeling Municipality, 0 in Kurseong Municipality, 0 in Mirik, 1 in Bijanbari, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)
4 of the plains (0 in Khoribari, 2 in Matigara, 0 in Naxalbari, 0 in Phansidewa, 2 in Sukuna) also test positive.
11 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 11 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 9 patients, 4 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 5 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There is 1 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and 1 patient in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and no patients in the Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III), and in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
11 Discharged:
11 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
