1 dies, 35 in Darj, 6 in Darj Hills, 12 in Plains, 18 in SMC tests positive, 17 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 485 samples- 25 tests positive, 30 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 October 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

1 died
Amal Kumar Waddedar, 55 yr old of Naukaghat More Siliguri died today in TCovuid Ward of NBMCH.

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
41 new children are admitted in paediatric ward during the last 24 hrs, of which 4 are suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) and 4 are referred patients from other hospitals. 

4 children died
4 died at NBMCH, of which only one three yr old of Jalpaiguri died of ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) while 3 newly born (one of Naxalbari, one of ALipurduar and one of Pulbazar died of various diseases like low birth weight (LBW). 

25 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 485 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 380 from Darjeeling, 105 from Kalimpong, 25 tested positive of which 3 tested positive in repeat test. 
 
18 in SMC:
18 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (17 in Darjeeling and 1 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 
 
35 in Darjeeling district:
35 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 17 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
6 of the Hills (1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 2 in Bijanbari, 0 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)
12 of the plains (1 in Khoribari, 3 in Matigara, 0 in Naxalbari, 5 in Phansidewa, 3 in Sukuna) also test positive.
Dr. Rudra nath Bhattacharya, Chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samity of Siliguri and former MLA tested positive. Though he has taken both doses of the vaccination he tested positive for the second time. Since yesterday he is admitted in RICU ward.

17 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 17 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 15 patients of which 11 are admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 4 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 
There are no child patients in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH but 1 patient in the Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III), 1 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

30 Discharged:
30 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
