Didn't talk new party plans: Thapa- "Thapa stressed on the formation of a new party.:-Insiders

SNS, DARJEELING, 12 AUGUST 21 : Leader of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha-2, Anit Thapa, today maintained that he was not floating a new political party. However, party sources said that in a closed-door meeting in Kalimpong today, Mr Thapa stressed on the formation of a new party.

According to sources, Mr Thapa told the meeting that they should move forward with a new party and flag while adding that saving the Morcha flag and party meant saving a "destructive leader Bimal Gurung."

However, when asked by reporters about this, Mr Thapa said. "I have not spoken about a new party or new flag.  I cannot talk about a new party as discussions need to be held within our party as how we need to move forward. The formation of a new party will be decided by the situation, time and the response of the people."

Asked about the meeting between Bimal Gurung and Binay Tamang yesterday, Mr Thapa said that he was interested in the future of the people rather than such things.

Speaking about the tripartite talks said to be called by the Centre, he said, "The MP holds tripartite talks only if they do not want to give anything. If they have to give something they will do it directly as they have done for Kashmir." The indoor meeting was held at Dr Graham's Homes community hall in Kalimpong today.
