4 dies (2 of Kalimpong) of Covid : 70 in Darj, 27 in Darj Hills, 21 in Plains, 25 in SMC tests positive, 37 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1538 tests done 95 test positive, 21 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 Aug 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

 

4 Dies

Niharendu Nandu, 78 yr old of Nivedita Sarani, Kotwali Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

B.B. Gurung, 67 yr old of Kalimpong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Malati Rai, 39 yr old of Kalimpong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH

Latika Tamang, 56 yr old of Sikkim died today died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri,

 

95 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1681 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 665, Kalimpong- 267, Jalpaiguri- 429,  Alipurduar- 320. Of these samples 43 test positive.

 

25 in SMC:

25 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (22 in Darjeeling and 3 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

70 in Darjeeling district:

70 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 22 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

27 of the Hills (9 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 2 in Bijanbari, 7 in Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Takdah)

21 of the plains (0 in Khoribari, 7 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, 6 in Phansidewa, 3 in Sukuna) also test positive.

 

37 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 37 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 32 patients of which 18 are admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 8 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), and no patient in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

There are 2 patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 3 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in another Isolation ward -1 and no child is admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) is withdrawn.

21 Discharged:

21 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
