K'pong Aadhar Kendra soon: Bista- come into operation in the next one month
SNS, DARJEELING, 30 JUNE 21 : Darjeeling's BJP MP Raju Bista today maintained that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had been working on a permanent Aadhar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Darjeeling and Kalimpong, and that the one in Kalimpong would come into operation in the next one month
"On the 14th of January last year I had written to CEO, UIDAI (Dr Subash Garg), requesting him to establish an ASK in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri region. I had then been informed that an ASK was being established in Siliguri and that the same would be done for Kalimpong and Darjeeling in due course of time," Mr Bista said in a release today.
"Today, I have received a letter from Dr. Garg stating that work for establishing an ASK is near completion at Bagdhara Primtam Road in Kalimpong and that it is expected to start functioning within one month. I have further been informed that identification of the location for the Darjeeling ASK is currently underway, and the same is also expected to start by the end of September 2021," he said.
Mr Bista also claimed that following problems faced by the tea garden and cinchona garden workers in seeding their Aadhar data with the Employees Provident Fund account, he had once again reached out to Dr Garg, with a request to update him on the matter earlier this month.
"Further, to facilitate smooth process for the Tea Garden and Cinchona Garden workers, UIDAI has included certificate issued by EPFO authoritiesin the 'valid list of documents' allowed for Aadhar enrolment.
"This will go a long way in helping the workers who are facing enrolment problems due to mismatch in EPF and Aadhar data, to correct their documents," said Mr Bista.
