5 Delta variant and 1 UK strain traced, 1 dies of Covid : 13 in Darj, 39 in Darj Hills, 13 in Plains, 17 in SMC tests positive, 24 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 419 tests done 58 test positive, 52 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 July 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

 

5 Delta Variant and 1 of UK strain is traced in North Bengal

1 each of Surya Sen Colony, Champasari, Naukaghat, NBMCH, Reshap of Mungpoo, and a few cases of UK strain in Mahamaya Colony and Tumba jote -Matigara. But it is reported that all of them have already recovered. Their swab tests were done in May and their test result was declared today.

1 Dies

Sarobala Singha, 70 yr old of Bikash Nagar -Salugara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

 

58 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

419  swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 151, Kalimpong- 73, Jalpaiguri- 99,  Alipurduar- 96. Of these samples 58 test positive.

 

17 in SMC:

17 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (13 in Darjeeling and 4 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

39 in Darjeeling district:

39 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 13 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

13 of the Hills (3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 3 in Bijanbari, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)

13 of the plains (1 in Khoribari, 4 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, 1 in Phansidewa, 1 in Sukuna) also test positive.

 

24 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 24 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 18 patients of which 8 are admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 5 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 4 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and no patient in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 1 in surgical isolation ward.

There are 3 patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 3 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in another Isolation ward -1 and in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

 

52 Discharged:

52 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
