2 (1 of Sikkim) die of Covid : 76 in Darj, 43 in Darj Hills, 13 in Plains, 30 in SMC test positive, 51 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 320 tests done 89 test positive, 150 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 July 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

2 Dies 

Binita Pradhan, 26 yr old of Namchi Sikkim died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri

Sudhangsu Pal, 77 yr old of Palpara Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

64 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

320 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 113, Kalimpong- 58, Jalpaiguri- 71, Alipurduar- 78. Of these samples 89 test positive.

30 in SMC:

30 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (20 in Darjeeling and 10 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

76 in Darjeeling district:

76 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 20 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

43 of the Hills (3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 8 in Mirik, 14 in Bijanbari 10 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Takdah)

13 of the plains (5 in Matigara, 4 in Naxalbari, 2 in Khoribari, 1 in Phansidewa, 1 in Sukuna) also test positive.

51 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 51 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 42 patients of which  12 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 12 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 12 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 1 in HDU (Trauma care centre) 5 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 2 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

There are 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward as well as in other Isolation ward -1. 

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

150 Discharged:

150 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
