KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

9 Dies:

Haren Sarkar, 70 yr old of Rabindra Sarani Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sikha Roy, 24 yr old of Ranihat Mekhligunj Coochbehar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Gauranga Kundu, 74 yr old of Pradhannagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Hari Sahani, 72 yr old of New Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Sushanta Kundu, 63 yr old of Suryasen Colony Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bahadur Thapa, 70 yr old of Chiya bari Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Gopal Darjee, 67 yr old of Oodlabari Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Ram Babu Chowdhary, 54 yr old of Jyotinagar Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri 

Sakuntala Devi, 55 yr old of Bihar in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri .

1861 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 861, Kalimpong- 168, Jalpaiguri- 401, Alipurduar- 431. Of these samples 633 test positive.

193 in SMC:

193 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (105 in Darjeeling and 88 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

329 in Darjeeling district:

329 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 105 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

90 of the Hills (16 in Darjeeling Municipality, 9 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 37 in Bijanbari, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 22 in Takdah).

134 of the plains (46 in Matigara, 31 in Naxalbari, 15 in Khoribari, 28 in Phansidewa, 14 in Sukuna) also test positive.

122 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 122 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 114 patients of which 55 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 24 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 15 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 16 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 8 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 3 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1.

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

344 Discharged:

344 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
