5 die of Covid : 202 in Darj, 64 in Darj Hills, 60 in Plains, 91 in SMC test positive, 90 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1582 tests done 320 test positive, 277 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 12 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

5 Dies:

Mithu Sutradhar, 57 yr old of Dalsingpara Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Jayram Tirki, 40 yr old of Ghamurgachhi Banarhat died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Renu Das, 55 yr old of Ambikanagar Sahudangi Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Shyamal Pal, 43 yr old of Milanpara Raigunj Uttar Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH

Mrinal Basak, 56 yr old of New Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Himachal Vihar Matigara Siliguri. 

320 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1582 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 716, Kalimpong- 119, Jalpaiguri- 243, Alipurduar- 504. Of these samples 320 test positive.

91 in SMC:

91 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (78 in Darjeeling and 13 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

202 in Darjeeling district:

202 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 78 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

64 of the Hills (7 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 9 in Mirik, 5 in Sukhiapokhari, 16 in Bijanbari, 25 in Takdah).

60 of the plains (19 in Matigara, 18 in Naxalbari, 7 in Khoribari, 4 in Phansidewa, 12 in Sukuna) also test positive.

90 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 90 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 84 patients of which 30 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 22 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 20 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 2 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 4 children are also admitted in the newly opened Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH having14 beds.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 6 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 2 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

277 Discharged:

277 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
