10 (2 of Kalimpong)_ die of Covid : 160 in Darj, 28 in Darj Hills, 2 in Plains, 78 in SMC test positive, 84 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1512 tests done 172 test positive, 286 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 16 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

10 Dies:

Subhra Majumdar, 43 yr old of Laketown Siliguri died of mucormycosis today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. It is fifth death at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

Shyamal Saha, 50 yr old of Chayanpara Ghughumali Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Mita Dey, 60 yr old of Tinkhana Colony Jalpaiguri Kotwali died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Manik Singha, 38 yr old of Batasi Khoribari died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Ashoke Kumar Pradhan, 68 yr old of Bijanbari Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dawa Tshering Lepcha, 74 yr old of Kalimpong died today in a nursing home in Siliguri. 

Urgen Tamang, 39 yr old of Gumbagaon Kalimpong died today in a nursing home in Siliguri. 

Gautam Saha, 64 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Ekramul Haque, 63 yr old of Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Kawakhali Siliguri.

Vaishali Mitra, 43 yr old of a Dabgram Matigara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Matigara in Siliguri.. 

172 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1512 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 603, Kalimpong- 228, Jalpaiguri- 312, Alipurduar- 369. Of these samples 172 test positive.

78 in SMC:

78 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (60 in Darjeeling and 18 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

160 in Darjeeling district:

160 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 60 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

28 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 6 in Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Bijanbari, 6 in Takdah).

72 of the plains (32 in Matigara, 9 in Naxalbari, 8 in Khoribari, 11 in Phansidewa, 12 in Sukuna) also test positive.

84 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 84 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 70 patients of which 31 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 16 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 16 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 1 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 4 children are also admitted in the newly opened Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH having14 beds.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 10 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 5 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

286 Discharged:

286 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
