
420 new cases recorded in Darjeeling, 16 Covid patients die

SNS, SILIGURI, 8 MAY 21: Darjeeling district recorded 420 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours sources said. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation including areas under Jalpaiguri district, registered 238 cases. A total of 123 cases were detected in Matigara Block, 24 cases in Sukna, 16 in Mirk, 15 in Naxalbari, 11 each in Kurseong Municipality and Phansidewa, nine in Takdah, seven in Kharibari, four in SukhiaPokhari and three cases in Bijanbari.
16 Covid patients die
Sixteen persons, who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in Siliguri in the past 24 hours, sources said.
A 52 yr old woman of Alipurduar, a 27-year-old woman of Bhaktinagar SIliguri, a 65-year-old male resident of Matigara, a 68-year-old resident of Bharat Nagar, a 37-year old resident of Dhupguri, Jalpaiguri, a 67-year-old resident of Sahudangi, a 72-year old of Malbazaar, Jalpaiguri, a 54-year-old resident of Gandhi Road in Darjeeling, a 69-year-old woman of Milan Pally in Siliguri, a 65 year-old woman from Dangipara. a 56-year-old woman from Salbari, a 38-year-old male resident of Kalimpong, a 45-year-old woman from Santinagar and a 49-year-old male resident of Milan Pally died in the NBMCH.
A 53-year-old woman of ward number ward number 18 and a 47-year old woman of Dagapur in Siliguri died in two private hospitals.
