22 die of Covid : 585 in Darj, 76 in Darj Hills, 219 in Plains, 382 in SMC test 140 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1606 tests done 731 test positive, 286 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

22 Death:

Shova Tamang, 56 yr old of 7th Mile Gumba Kalimpong died today in CCU of Covid Ward II of NBMCH.

Amar Bhowmick, 75 yr old of Isckon Mandir Road Jalpaiguri died today in HDU of Covid Ward of NBMCH, was admitted on 28 April.

Pinki Pal, 28 yr old of Salugara Checkpost Siliguri died today in RICU Ward of NBMCH.

Jiwan Singha, 32 yr old of New Rangia Matigara Siliguri died today in RICU Ward of NBMCH. 

Shila Devi, 75 yr old of Darjeeling More Siliguri died today in Female Medicine II of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Ratan Majhi, 40 yr old of Ghatia TE Nagarkatta died today in Female Medicine II of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Babul Mandal, 40 yr old of Patiram Jote Siliguri died today in in Female Medicine II of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Minati Sinha, 45 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward I of NBMCH.

Dr. Anup Biswas, 46 yr old of Luisipokhari Phansidewa died today in in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Pappu Thakur, 48 yr old of Adarshanagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anup kr Biswas, 64 yr old patient of Farbejgunj Bihar died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Arabinda Das, 69 yr old patient of Saktigarh Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Sunil Biswas, 55 yr old patient of Hooghly (presently at Sukantanagar Siliguri) died today in Siliguri Hospital.

Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1606 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts as follows: Darjeeling- 880, Kalimpong- 169, Jalpaiguri– 436, Alipurduar- 121 .Of these 731 samples test positive. 

382 in SMC:

382 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (290 in Darjeeling and 92 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

585 in Darjeeling district:

585 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 290 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

76 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (18 in Darjeeling Municipality, 5 in Kurseong Municipality, 16 in Mirik, 18 in Bijanbari, 12 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah).

219 of the plains (91 in Matigara, 88 in Naxalbari, 15 in Khoribari, 6 in Phansidewa, 19 in Sukuna) also test positive.

Municipality, 

140 patients in NBMCH:

140 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 52 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 36 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 40 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine) 

 (Capacity 253 beds) 

During the last 24 hours 12 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

286 Discharged:

286  patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
