15 die of Covid : 622 in Darj, 57 in Darj Hills, 262 in Plains, 397 in SMC test 140 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1599 tests done 440 test positive,  346 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 12 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

15 Death:

Narayan Mijar, 63 yr old of Naxalbari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bela Das, 53 yr old of Chhota Phapri Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Aruna Sundas,  65 yr old of New Chumta TE Putherghata Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bijoy Nandi, 83 yr old of Ward No 25 New Milan Palli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Passang Sherpa, 60 yr old of Reshambari 10th Mile Kalimpong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Krishna Kundu, 65 yr old of Surya Sen Colony Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Mithu Debnath, 45 yr old of Shantinagar Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anjali Tanti, 46 yr old of Damdim TE Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Mamata Das, 87 yr old of Old Police Line Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Md Mumtaj Ali, 73 yr old of Masjid para Bagdogra Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sapna Biswas, 35 yr old of Surya Sen Colony Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Binoy Gupta, 62 yr old of Milan More Champasari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Kalyan Saha, 60 yr old of Collegepara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Dip Jyoti Das, 32 yr old of Swamiji Sarani Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

Sushil Kr Mondal, 63 yr old of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died today in a nursing Home at Kawakhali

440 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1599 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts as follows: Darjeeling- 880, Kalimpong- 169, Jalpaiguri– 436, Alipurduar- 121 - Total 1606.Of these 440 samples test positive.

397 in SMC:

397 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (303 in Darjeeling and 94 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

622 in Darjeeling district:

622 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 303 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

57 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (5 in Darjeeling Municipality 11 in Kurseong Municipality, 11 in Mirik, 7 in Bijanbari, 18 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Takdah).

262 of the plains (133 in Matigara, 54 in Naxalbari, 24 in Khoribari, 36 in Phansidewa, 15 in Sukuna) also test positive.

140 patients in NBMCH:

140 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 52 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 36 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 40 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine) 

 (Capacity 253 beds) 

During the last 24 hours 12 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

346 Discharged:

346  patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
