14 die of Covid : 390 in Darj, 31 in Darj Hills, 150 in Plains, 275 in SMC test positive, 141 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1954 tests done 354 test positive, 361 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 16 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

14 Dies:

Pushparani Shil, 75 yr old of Shantinagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Minati Shil, 56 yr old of Bhujiapani Bagdogra Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Rina Singha, 26 yr old of Hatighisa Naxalbari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Atilal Roy, 52 yr old of Rajgunj died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sunira Biswakarma, of Rohini Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Amar Singha Niyogi, 60 yr old of Ghughumali Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bachanlal Gupta, 55 yr old of Khoribari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Binapani Das Gupta, 89 yr old of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anil Chandra Sarkar, of Pati Colony Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dulal Das, 37 yr old of Gaurangapalli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Diti Choudhurai, 60 yr old of Bagdogra died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sanjib Saha,62 yr old of Pakurtala Siliguri died today in died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

Arati Roy, 80 yr old of Hakimapara Siliguri died today in died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Shiv Shankar Jaiswal, 38 yr old of Bagdogra Siliguri died today in died today in a nursing home at Matigara Siliguri.

354 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1954 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar - Total 354 samples test positive.

275 in SMC:

275 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (209 in Darjeeling and 66 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

390 in Darjeeling district:

390 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 209 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

31 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 17 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 4 in Bijanbari, 5 in Sukhiapokhari,).

150 of the plains (82 in Matigara, 39 in Naxalbari, 11 in Khoribari, 6 in Phansidewa, 12 in Sukuna) also test positive.

141 patients in NBMCH:

140 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 61 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 29 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 32 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine) 

During the last 24 hours 19 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 13 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 2 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

361 Discharged:

361  patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
