Bista hails 'historic' Kalchini rally- as an event that heralded the transformation of North Bengal.

SNS, SILIGURI, 2APRIL 21: Darjeeling's BJP MP Raju Bista has said that the election rally in Kalchini in Alipurduar district will go down in the history of the region as an event that heralded the transformation of North Bengal.

"In remembering our brave-hearts Saheed Bipul Ray and Saheed Rajeev Thapa, Hon'ble Amit Shah ji reminded the nation, the unprecedented contribution made by people from North Bengal towards keeping our nation protected. By remembering Thakur Panchanan Barma, Saheed Durga Malla, Vir Chillaray, he honoured the proud legacy and contributions of our people towards nation building," Mr Bista said in a release.

".. Amit Shahji informed all that by November 2021, our government will start granting of Parja Patta rights to Tea Garden, Cinchona Garden, Forest Villagers and those living in Dl Fund land. To ensure welfare of the tea garden workers, our government will also increase the wages of tea garden workers to Rs 350 per day," he added.

According to Mr Bista, who is also the national spokesperson for the BJP the Centre will also initiate a Rs 500-crore organic farming initiative in Darjeeling Hills.

"To encourage creativity and promotion of Nepali language, our government will grant subsidies to those making movies in Nepali and an annual prize of Rs 5 crores will be initiated for encouraging Nepali cinema. Our government will also start a Nepali language radio channel," he added.
