Observation
Shallow fog prevailed at one or two places over Coochbehar, Malda & West Burdwan districtsof West Bengal. Weather remained dry over the rest of the region.
Today’s minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal. No large change occurred elsewhere in the region. Those were below normal to appreciably below normal at manyplaces in Gangetic West Bengal; below normal at a few places in Sub Himalayan West Bengal and normal elsewhere in the region.
Lowest minimum temperature of 8.2°C was recorded at Raiganj (Sub Himalayan West Bengal) in the plains of the region.
A Cyclonic Circulation lies over South Bangladesh and neighbourhood extending up to 2.1 km above mean sea level. Mainly Northwesterly wind prevail over the land area of the region.
No large change in night temperature during next 24 hours and fall by 3-4 ⁰C thereafter during subsequent 3-4 days.Shallow to moderate fog likely to prevail at one or two places during next 3 days over the districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal.
Major Weather System over the Region
Severe Cold day conditions prevailed at one or two places over Bihar. Cold day conditions prevailed at most places over Biharand at one or two places over Jharkhand. Dense fog prevailed at a few places with very dense fog at one or two places overBihar.
Shallow fog prevailed at one or two places over Jharkhand and Coochbehar, Malda & West Burdwan district of WestBengal. Very light to light rain occurred at one or two places over Jharkhand.
Very light rain occurred at one or two placesover Bihar. Weatherremained dry over the rest of the region.
Today’s minimum temperature rose appreciably at a few placesover Jharkhand and at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal. No large change occurred elsewhere in the region.
Those were below normal to appreciably below normal at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and at one or twoplaces in East Jharkhand with markedly below normal at one or two places in Bihar; below normal at a few places in SubHimalayan West Bengal and at one or two places in Odisha; above normal to appreciably above normal at few places withmarkedly above normal at one or two places in Odisha; above normal at one or two places in West Jharkhand and normal elsewhere in the region.
