21 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 2 in Kalimpong, 1 in Takdah tested positive,. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari, 1 in Phansidewa and 1 in Matigara.

1 in Alipurduar, 4 in Coochbehar, 5 in Jalpaiguri, 1 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 16 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

No Death: 

0 death is reported during the last 24 hours in Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district. 

5 in SMC:

5 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (5 in Darjeeling and 0 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

9 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 9 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 5 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC, while 1 is from Darjeeling Hills - 1 in Takdah tested positive,. Of the plains they are- 1 in Naxalbari, 1 in Phansidewa and 1 in Matigara.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 10 new cases,18134 confirmed cases of which 17668 have recovered and 200 died while 266 are active cases.

2 in Kalimpong:

2 new cases, 3 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 2 new cases, 2202 confirmed cases of which 2141 have recovered, 25 died and 36 are active cases.

1 in Alipurduar:

1 new cases, 2 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 3 new cases, 7677 confirmed cases of which 7553 have recovered and 85 died while 39 are active cases.

4 in Coochbehar: 

4 new cases, 4 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 4 new cases, 11772 confirmed cases of which 11592 have recovered, 72 died and 108 are active cases.

5 in Jalpaiguri: 

1 death, 5 new cases, 10 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 8 new cases, 14550 confirmed cases of which 158 died while 14204 have recovered and 188 are active cases.

1 in Malda:  

1 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 8 new cases, 12598 confirmed cases of which 12330 have recovered and 113 died and 155 are active cases.

21 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 21 cases have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.

During the last 24 hours 2 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, and no patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, in Surgical isolation wards and Isolation ward -1.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 18 Covid-19 patients (5 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 2 patient is newly admitted and 3 released.
