1 death: 4 of Hills (2 of Kalimpong and 2 of Darjeeling), 8 of SMC, 12 of GTA infected

27 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 2 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, tested positive. Of the plains they are- 3 in Matigara, 1 in Phansidewa, 1 in Naxalbari..

4 in Alipurduar, 10 in Coochbehar, 8 in Jalpaiguri, 4 in Malda districts tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 January 2021 : Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Binoy Kumar Guha, 84 year old of Purba Vivekananda Palli Siliguri died (admitted on 27 Dec) at Dr. Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.  

12 in SMC:

12 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (8 in Darjeeling and 4 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

15 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 15 positive cases of Darjeeling district, 8 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 2 is from Darjeeling hills- 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari tested positive. Of the plains they are- 3 in Matigara, 1 in Phansidewa, 1 in Naxalbari..

3 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, Pulbazar, 1 in Takdah,  2 in Khoribari, 1 in Sukuna. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 22 new cases,17945 confirmed cases of which 17339 have recovered and 200 died while 406 are active cases.

2 in Kalimpong:

2 new cases, 3 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 2 new cases, 2176 confirmed cases of which 2115 have recovered, 24 died and 37 are active cases.

4 in Alipurduar:

4 new cases, 5 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 2 new cases, 7653 confirmed cases of which 7527 have recovered and 85 died while 41 are active cases.

10 in Coochbehar: 

10 new cases, 10 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 15 new cases, 11711 confirmed cases of which 11465 have recovered, 72 died and 174 are active cases.

8 in Jalpaiguri: 

8 new cases, 43 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 5 new cases, 14434 confirmed cases of which 156 died while 13989 have recovered and 289 are active cases.

4 in Malda:  

4 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 7 new cases, 12520 confirmed cases of which 12199 have recovered and 113 died and 208 are active cases.

27 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 27 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 3 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, and 1 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Surgical isolation ward and in Isolation ward -1.

1 each of 1st Division Som TE Darjeeling and Algarah Kalimpong –total 2 of GTA area admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 17 Covid-19 patients (3 are in ICU) are admitted, during the last 24 hours 3 patients newly admitted and 3 released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of Lebong Darjeeling, Takdah Cantonment, and Naya Bazar Kurseong - total 3 of GTA area admitted.

TRIBENI Covid Hospital 

3 patients of Darjeeling and 4 from Kalimpong are admitted, 3 released in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 423 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 749.

There are 5 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 7 in GTA area and no Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA and Safe homes outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 12 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
