1 death; 11 of Hills (9 of Kalimpong and 2 of Darjeeling), 43 of SMC, 27 of GTA area infected

 63 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 9 in Kalimpong, 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-1 in Sukuna, 8 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, 2 in Khoribari, tested positive. 

18 in Malda, 20 in Alipurduar, 5 in Coochbehar, 36 in Jalpaiguri and tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong,  20 December 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals in the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

1 Death: 

Apurba Chaki, 58 yr old of Anandanagar Mainaguri died in a Desun Covid Hospital.

43 in SMC:

43 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (34 in Darjeeling and 9 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

53 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 53 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 34 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 2 is from the Darjeeling hills - 1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are-1 in Sukuna, 8 in Matigara, 6 in Naxalbari, 2 in Khoribari, tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 73 new cases,17154 confirmed cases of which 16414 have recovered and 195 died while 545 are active cases.

9 in Kalimpong:

9 new cases, 8 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 9 new cases, 2056 confirmed cases of which 1985 have recovered, 23 died and 48 are active cases.

18 in Malda:  

18 new cases, reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 18 new cases, 12208 confirmed cases of which 11730 have recovered and 109 died and 369 are active cases.

20 in Alipurduar:

20 new cases, 21 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 18 new cases, 7546 confirmed cases of which 7391 have recovered and 85 died while 70 are active cases.

5 in Coochbehar: 

5 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 20 new cases, 11402 confirmed cases of which 10941 have recovered, 68 died and 393 are active cases.

36 in Jalpaiguri: 

36 new cases, 57 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 36 new cases, 13872 confirmed cases of which 152 died while 13268 have recovered and 452 are active cases.

63 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 63 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 5 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients admitted in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 2 in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and no patients in Surgical isolation ward and in Isolation ward -1.

1 of Tindharia–total 1 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 11 Covid-19 patients are admitted,  during the last 24 hours no patients are newly admitted and 10 are released and 6 referred.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of M. V. Road Kurseong, Malutar Mahanadi Kurseong, total 2 of GTA area is admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 26 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 2 patients are newly admitted, 4 are released.

1 each of Rohini TE Kurseong total 1 of GTA area admitted.

2 of Kurseong of GTA admitted.

8 patients of Darjeeling and 10 from Kalimpong are admitted, 2 released in this hospital.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 326 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 521 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 847.

There are 4 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 18 in GTA area and 3 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 27 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Today’s daily state bulletin regarding the report of the last 24 hrs stated that Darjeeling district records 73 new cases,17154 confirmed cases of which 16414 have recovered and 195 died while 545 are active cases.

Similarly Kalimpong district records 9 new cases, 2056 confirmed cases of which 1985 have recovered, 23 died and 48 are active cases.

Alipurduar records 18 new cases, 7546 confirmed cases of which 7391 have recovered and 85 died while 70 are active cases.
