IMD, KalimNews, 1 November 2020 : : Very light to light rain occurred at one or two places over Kolkata, Murshidabad and North-24 districts of Gangetic West Bengal.
Weather remained dry over rest of the regions. Today's minimum temperature rose appreciably at a few places in West Bengal and no large change occurred elsewhere in the region. Those were above normal to appreciably above normal at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal; above normal at many places in Gangetic West Bengal and normal elsewhere in the region.
A Low Pressure Area lies over Northeast & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and associated cyclonic circulation extends upto mid tropospheric levels. This system is likely to move towards Bangladesh coast during next 48 hours. A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with this Low Pressure Area to Bangladesh in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence:
i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Meghalaya; scattered rainfall activity over Assam during next 2 days.
ii) Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 01st November and Isolated heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 2nd November and over Assam & Meghalaya on 01st November, 2020.
iii) Squally weather (wind speed 40-50 kmph) very likely over Northeast & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal on 01 November, 2020. Fishermen are advised not to venture into this area.
♦ Generally dry weather very likely over most parts of Northwest, West, Central and East India during next 5 days.
Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over East Central Bay of Bengal off Myanmar coast now lies over Northeast & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal with the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 4.5 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move towards the Bangladesh coast during the next 48 hours. The trough from the cyclonic circulation associated with the above Low Pressure Area to Bangladesh persists & now seen at 1.5 km above mean sea level. ♦ Rainfall recorded (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) (1 cm or more): Mokokchung-8; Imphal-3; Silchar-2; Baderwah, Kailashahar, Agartala and Shirali-1 each.
♦ Heavy rainfall recorded at isolated places over Nagaland.
♦ Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST to 1430 hours IST of today): at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
♦ Maximum Temperature Departures as on 31-10-2020: Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka; at many places over Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal & Sikkim, Konkan & Goa and Kerala & Mahe; at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Telangana and at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Punjab and Lakshadweep. They were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over East Rajasthan and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and West Rajasthan and at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 37.0°C was reported at Bulsar (Gujarat Region).
♦ Minimum Temperature Departures as on 01-11-2020: Minimum temperatures are above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, West Bengal & Sikkim, Rajasthan; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gujarat Region and Konkan & Goa; at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Telangana and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal. They are below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and near normal at rest part of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 8.7°C reported at Churu (West Rajasthan) over the plains of the country.

♦ The cyclonic circulation over north interior Tamilnadu between 3.1 & 3.6 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal off North Tamilnadu coast extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The Low Pressure Area over Northeast & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 km above mean sea level persists. It is likely to move towards Bangladesh coast during next 48 hours.
♦ The trough from the cyclonic circulation associated with the above Low Pressure Area to Bangladesh at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan & neighbourhood between 1.5 km & 4.5 km above mean sea level with the trough aloft in upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis between 5.8 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 75°E to the north of Lat. 28°N persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over Southwest Arabian Sea extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over Southeast Arabian Sea off Kerala coast at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ Gradual fall in temperatures by 2-3°c very likely over central India during next 3 days and no significant change in temperatures very likely over the rest parts of the country during next 3-4 days
