Six Covid-19 patients die in Siliguri-Darjeeling district recorded 89 fresh cases

Thirty-five of the cases were from the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, three from Darjeeling Municipality, three from Kharibari, five from Sukna, seven from Kurseong Municipality, 13 in Matigara, four in Mirik, 11 in Naxalbari, six in Phansidewa, one in Sukhia Pokhari and one in Takdah. Thirteen cases were also recorded in the Jalpaiguri portion of the SMC.
SNS, SILIGURI, 7 NOVEMBER 2020 : A 48-year-old resident of Matigara block under the Siliguri Sub-Division died at a designated hospital for Covid- 19 patients here today.A 62-year old person from Haider Para in Siliguri also died at the same hospital, sources said.
Two residents of Phansidewa, a 55-year-old and another 51-year-old died in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital today. They had tested positive for the virus, sources said.
A 45-year-old person from Haldibari in Cooch Behar district died at another designated hospital in Matigara last evening. Another 60-year-old from Kaliaganj in North Dinajpur district also died there last evening, sources said.
Darjeeling district, meanwhile, recorded 89 fresh cases of Covid-19 today, sources said. Thirty-five of the cases were from the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, three from Darjeeling Municipality, three from Kharibari, five from Sukna, seven from Kurseong Municipality, 13 in Matigara, four in Mirik, 11 in Naxalbari, six in Phansidewa, one in Sukhia Pokhari and one in Takdah. Malda reported another 46 cases of Covid- 19 in tests conducted yesterday sources said. Thirty-five of the fresh cases were detected at the VRDL in the Malda Medical College and Hospital, while 11 were found through rapid antigen tests. North Dinajpur recorded 62 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, sources said. Officials said the recovery rate was more than 90 percent in the district.
