92 new Covid cases in Darjeeling dist- Three die in Siliguri

101 Covid patients in the district either were discharged .

SNS,  SILIGURI, 14 NOVEMBER 2020 : Darjeeling district recorded a total of 92 fresh cases of Covid-19 today, sources said. Thirty-five of the new cases are from the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, one from Darjeeling Municipality, three from Kharibari, six from Sukna, five from Kurseong Municipality, 14 from Matigara, one from Mirik, 18 from Naxalbari, three from Phansidewa, one from Pulbazaar/Bijanbari, four from Sukhia Pokhari and one from Takdah.

Sixteen cases were separately detected in the Jalpaiguri portion of the SMC, the sources said.

Also today, 101 Covid patients in the district either ended their home isolation period or were discharged from hospitals, they added.

Three die in Siliguri

Three persons who had tested positive for Covid- 19 died in Siliguri in the past 24 hours, sources said.

A 65-year-old resident of Champasari in Siliguri, who had been admitted in the designated hospital for Covid patients at Kawakhali yesterday, died today.

A 55-year-old resident of Mal-bazaar in Jalpaiguri died at another dedicated hospital for Covid 19 patients at Matigara last evening. A 70-year-old from Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri also died at the same hospital today, sources said.

48 new cases in N Dinajpur

North Dinajpur recorded 48 new cases of Covid-19 in different blocks of the district in the past 24 hours, sources said.The fresh cases have taken the Covid tally in the district to 5328 now, the sources said. According to officials at the district health office, there are a total of 387 active cases

in the district. "The patients are undergoing treatment either in Covid hospitals or in home isolation," an official said today

77 in Malda

Malda counted another 77 cases of the virus in tests conducted yesterday, sources said. A total of 67 samples were tested positive from the 1038 tested at the VRDL in the Malda Medical College and Hospital through the RTPCR method, while 10 others were detected in rapid antigen tests. English Bazaar had a high of 21 cases, while Bamongola followed with 17. The rest of the cases were spread across various blocks of the district, the sources added.
