8 dies of Covid (1 of Darjeeling, 2 of Siliguri, 3 of Jalpaiguri) ; 21 of Hills (12 of Kalimpong and 9 of Darjeeling), 74 of SMC infected, 85 Active cases in GTA

21 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 8 in Kalimpong, 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Pulbazar, 1 in Sukhiapokhari and 1 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 9 in Khoribari,  11 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, and  1 in Phansidewa tested positive. 26 in Alipurduar, 40 in Coochbehar, 131 in Jalpaiguri, 25 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

8 Death: 8 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district.

Buddha Tamang, 67 yr old of Gandhi Road Darjeeling died in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital

Dipak Roy, 35 yr old of Janatanagar Dasarathpalli Bhaktinagar;

Amalenda Bhowmick, 78 yr old of Deshbandhupara Ward No 29 Bhaktinagar;

Nikunja Mohan Sen, 78 yr old of Hakimpara Jalpaiguri ;

Manu Oraon, 45 yr old of Shikarpur TE Jalpaiguri died in Desun Covid Hospital

Md. Tehrar, 20 yr old of Islampur ; 

Md Afratul Alam, 55 yr old of Kishangunj Bihar died in RICU ward of NBMCH

Ratan kumar Saha, 64 yr old of Naya Busty Jalpaiguri in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road.

74 of SMC:

74 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation tested positive.

125 in Darjeeling district:

Of the  125 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 3 in Sukuna, 3 in Khoribari,  25 in Matigara, 20 in Naxalbari, and  5 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 1414 new cases, 12714 confirmed cases of which 11407 have recovered and 151 died while 1156 are active cases.

8 in Kalimpong:

8 new cases, 24 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 8 new cases, 1533 confirmed cases of which 1456 have recovered, 17 died and 60 are active cases.

25 in Malda:  25 new cases reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 29 new cases, 10435 confirmed cases of which 9603 have recovered and 89 died and 743 are active cases.

26 in Alipurduar:

26 new cases, 31 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 33 new cases, 6686 confirmed cases of which 6408 have recovered and 78 died while 200 are active cases.

40 in Coochbehar: 

1 death, 40 new cases with 79 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 109 new cases, 9404 confirmed cases of which 8488 have recovered, 56 died and 860 are active cases.

131 in Jalpaiguri: 

2 death, 131 new cases, 92 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 131 new cases, 9992 confirmed cases of which 98 died while 9070 have recovered and 824 are active cases.

95 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 95 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 33 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 15 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 14 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Kurseong and 1 of Mission Compound Kalimpong are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 99 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 18 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 8 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of   Bhotay Busty Darjeeling, Tamsang, Dudhia, Khaharey, Marybong TG, Naya Bazar, 2 of Kurseong, 2 of  Mahanadi, 2 of  St. Mary’s Hill and Dowhill, Methibari, Chhota Kagjhora Darjeeling, Upper Bong Busty Kalimpong, Lava Suntalay and Teesta Bazar, GTA area are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 79 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 6 patients are newly admitted, 9 are released.

1 each of Subedar Busty Kurseong, Sukuna, Darjeeling and 10^th Mile Kalimpong, Gumbahatta, Relli Road, Sinji Busty Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released.

1 of Mirik GTA admitted.

1 from Mirik and 1 of Shantigram Kurseong admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 648 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 635 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1283.

There are 26 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 35 in GTA area and 21 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 3 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 85 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
