6 death; 31 of Hills (17 of Kalimpong and 14 of Darjeeling), 82 of SMC infected

92 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 17 in Kalimpong, 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 8 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 4 in Khoribari, 15 in Matigara, 12 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive. 64 in Alipurduar, 47 in Coochbehar, 23 in Jalpaiguri and 91 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-  

6 Death: 6 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. They were-

Chhana Pal, 70 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri;

Panchu Oraon, 53 yr old of Nirpania Busty (Jabra Div) Naxalbari ;

Salil Sarkar, 64 yr old of Sukanta Nagar Bhaktinagar Siliguri died in in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Md Ekramul, 30 yr old of Joydeepbhita Bhaktinagar;

Subodh chandra Deb, 76 yr old of Deshbandhupara died in in Desun Covid Hospital

Chhanda Gupta, 44 yr old of Kalimpong died in a Nursing Home at Sevoke Road

82 of SMC:

82 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (56 in Darjeeling and 26 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

103 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 103 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 56 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 14 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 Sukhiapokhari, 8 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 1 in Sukuna, 4 in Khoribari, 15 in Matigara, 12 in Naxalbari, and 1 in Phansidewa tested positive.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 148 new cases, 14012 confirmed cases of which 13026 have recovered and 161 died while 825 are active cases.

7 in Kalimpong: 

17 new cases, 11 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 17 new cases, 1660 confirmed cases of which 1589 have recovered, 19 died and 52 are active cases. 

91 in Malda:  

91 new case reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 44 new cases, 10949 confirmed cases of which 10482 have recovered and 94 died and 373 are active cases. 

64 in Alipurduar: 

64 new cases, 28 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 10 new cases, 6987 confirmed cases of which 6768 have recovered and 80 died while 139 are active cases. 

47 in Coochbehar: 

47 new cases with 87 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 593 new cases, 10045 confirmed cases of which 9623 have recovered, 57 died and 365 are active cases.

23 in Jalpaiguri: 

3 death (2 of Rajgunj and 1 of Jalpaiguri), 23 new cases release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 141 new cases, 11208 confirmed cases of which 116 died while 10334 have recovered and 758 are active cases.

92 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 92 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH 

During the last 24 hours 23 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 11 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 9 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 of Lopchu T.G., 1 of Redhead TG Ghoom are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 78 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 20 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 11 patients are newly admitted and 11 are released.

At Dr.Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Marybong TG, Sudhapa tol Kurseong, Springside TE Kurseong, Lower Dumaram, PV Road Kurseong, Kurseong, Pokhriabong, Singbuli Mirik,  Pratap Gaon Mirik, Krishnanagar Mirik, Jasbir Gaon Mirik, Phuguri Mirik, Mirik Busty, Gairigaon Bijanbari, Reshab Dhura Rangli, 2 each of Lowis Jubilee Darjeeling, Jowahar Busty Toongsoong, and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and Bong Busty Kalimpong, GTA area are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 75 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 5 patients are newly admitted, 10 are released.

1 each of Sibitar T.E Kurseong, Singel T.E, Sepoy Dhura, Makaibari,  Bijanbari  of GTA area are admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 613 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 605 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1218.

There are 27 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 27 in GTA area and 12 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 5 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 71 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
