SMC stickers for home isolation patients

The chairperson of the board of administrators of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), Asok Bhattacharya, today said the withdrawal of barricades. or ribbons from the entrance of a house or an individual flat of Covid patients had made it tough to identify the number of infected persons. Mr Bhattacharya said the SMC will paste stickers on the 'Do's and Don'ts' for patients in home isolation.

According to him, he had received reports in many cases that asymptowhomatic patients and their family members,  had been tested negative, were roaming around freely.

"Following the withdrawal of the barricades or ribbons, it has become difficult to identify positive patients. It is a matter of concern. The government should look into whether protocols are flouted. We have decided that henceforth the civic body will paste stickers on the Covid guidelines at residences of patients under home isolation. I will request people to adhere to the 'Do's and Don'ts'," he said.

He said yellow packets will be distributed again for home isolation patients for biomedical waste.
