3 death; 27 of Hills (11 of Kalimpong and 16 of Darjeeling), 66 of SMC, 48 of GTA area infected

69 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 11 in Kalimpong, 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality,  8 in Mirik and 2 in Pulbazar. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 5 in Khoribari, 24 in Matigara, 11 in Naxalbari, and 9 in Phansidewa tested positive.  29 in Alipurduar, 18 in Coochbehar, 130 in Jalpaiguri and 24 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:- 

3 Death: 

3 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. They are-

Naresh Chandra Chakraborty, 76 yr old of Sharadapally Medical More Siliguri ;

Shiba Psd Roy, 54 yr old of Kalisthan Purnea Bihar died in Desun Covid Hospital.

Sambhu nath Bandhopadhyay, 82 yr old of Vivekananda palli died in Dr Chhang’s SS Hospital.

66 of SMC:

66 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (45 in Darjeeling and 21 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

113 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 113 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 30 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 16 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 8 in Mirik and 2 in Pulbazar. Of the plains they are- 3 in Sukuna, 5 in Khoribari, 24 in Matigara, 11 in Naxalbari, and 9 in Phansidewa tested positive.

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 161 new cases, 14599 confirmed cases of which 13650 have recovered and 174 died while 775 are active cases.

11 in Kalimpong:

11 new cases, 10 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 11 new cases, 1708 confirmed cases of which 1639 have recovered, 19 died and 50 are active cases.

24 in Malda: 

24 new case reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 25 new cases, 11159 confirmed cases of which 10762 have recovered and 95 died and 302 are active cases.

29 in Alipurduar:

29 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 14 new cases, 7089 confirmed cases of which 6905 have recovered and 81 died while 103 are active cases.

18 in Coochbehar: 

18 new cases, 44 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 46 new cases, 10312 confirmed cases of which 9972 have recovered, 60 died and 280 are active cases.

130 in Jalpaiguri: 

3 death, 130 new cases 143 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 130 new cases, 11769 confirmed cases of which 125 died while 10980 have recovered and 664 are active cases.

69 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 69 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 25 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 10 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 3 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Lopchu T.G., Redhead TG Ghoom and Pubung Kalimpong and Dalapchand Kalimpong –total 4 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s  SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 67 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 7 patients are newly admitted and 3 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Lower Dumaram, Ghayabari Kurseong, Mirik Busty, Phuguri Mirik, Bijanbari, 2 of Jowahar Busty Toongsoong Darjeeling, and Upper Pradhan gaon Kalimpong, and Bong Busty Kalimpong, ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (10) are admitted.

DESUN Covid Hospital

1 each of Singel T.E, Simulbari TE, Sonada and 1of 10th Mile Kalimpong of GTA area (4) are admitted in this hospital. 

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

1 each of Mirik, Kurseong  GTA admitted.

SILIGURI INDOOR STADIUM

1 from Mirik and 1 of Shantigram Kurseong admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 534 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 594 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1128.

There are 18 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 20 in GTA area and 6 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 4 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 48 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
