113 Covid cases in Darj district

SNS, SILIGURI, 23 NOVEMBER 2020 : Darjeeling district recorded a total of 113 fresh cases of Coed- 19 today sources said.

Forty-five of the new cases were from the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, two from Darjeeling Municipality, five from Kharibari, three from Sukna, four from Kurseong Municipality, 24 from Matigara eight from Mirik, 11 from Naxalbari, nine from Phansidewa, and two from Pulbazaar /Bijanbari.

A total of 21 cases were also found in the Jalpaiguri portion of the SMC. Also today 69 Covid patients either ended their home isolation period or were discharged from hospitals, the sources added.

Meanwhile, three persons who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in the dedicated hospitals for Covid patients in Siliguri in the past 24 hours.

Malda, on the other hand, recorded its lowest daily count of Covid cases after a peak when only 10 samples were tested positive at the VRDL, in the Malda Medical College and Hospital last night. The district had been recording a dip in the daily cases for the past few days. The highest daily count of cases recorded in the district was 147 on 4 November.The fresh cases have now taken the tally of covid cases to 11150.
