2 death; 15 of Hills (3 of Kalimpong and 12 of Darjeeling), 76 of SMC, 59 of GTA area infected

85 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs – 3 in Kalimpong, 6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 7 in Sukuna, 13 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive. 14 in Alipurduar, 25 in Coochbehar, 17 in Jalpaiguri and 37 in Malda tested positive.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 November 2020: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals within the 5 of the 7 districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:-  

2 Death: 

2 death reported during the last 24 hours in the designated Covid hospitals and nursing homes of Darjeeling district. 

Tapasi Pal, 59 yr old of Ward no.33 Laketown Siliguri died in Dr. Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital.

Tapas kumar Chakraborty, 62 yr old of Deshbandhupara Islampur Uttar Dinajpur (admitted on 18 November) died in Desun Covid Hospital. 

76 in SMC:

76 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (45 in Darjeeling and 31 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

82 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 82 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district, 45 are from the Darjeeling district of the SMC while 12 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are- 6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Pulbazar, 1 in Mirik. Of the plains they are- 7 in Sukuna, 13 in Matigara, 5 in Naxalbari, and 2 in Phansidewa tested positive. 

State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Darjeeling district records 111 new cases,15288 confirmed cases of which 14294 have recovered and 179 died while 815 are active cases.

3 in Kalimpong:

3 new cases, 6 release from Kalimpong is reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Kalimpong district records 3 new cases, 1783 confirmed cases of which 1691 have recovered, 21 died and 71 are active cases.

37 in Malda:  

37 new cases, 31 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 43 new cases, 11407 confirmed cases of which 11004 have recovered and 97 died and 306 are active cases. 

14 in Alipurduar:

1 death, 14 new cases, 25 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 9 new cases, 7196 confirmed cases of which 7042 have recovered and 83 died while 71 are active cases.

25 in Coochbehar: 

1 death, 25 new cases, 34 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 38 new cases, 10539 confirmed cases of which 10177 have recovered, 63 died and 299 are active cases.

17 in Jalpaiguri: 

17 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 89 new cases, 12319 confirmed cases of which 134 died while 11562 have recovered and 623 are active cases.

85 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 85 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital, Nivedita Nursing Home, Tribeni Covid Hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today. 

NBMCH

During the last 24 hours 14 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward, 1 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and no patient in Isolation ward -1 are admitted.

1 each of Takdah, Pulbazar and 1 of Fagu Gorubathan–total 3 of GTA area are admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At present in Dr.Chhang’s SS Covid Hospital at Matigara, 71 Covid-19 patients are admitted while 21 are in ICU, while during the last 24 hours 3 patients are newly admitted and 6 are released.

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 1 each of  Nayabazar Kurseong, Ghayabari, Singel TE, Giddepahar Kurseong, Ambotia Kurseong, Simulbari, Jawahar busty Darjeeling, NB Sing Road Darjeeling, North Point Singmari, Mahendra nagar Mirik, Nayabazar Mirik, 29th Mile Kalimpong and ICICI Bank Kalimpong GTA area (13) are admitted. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 76 (out of 100 bed) Covid-19 patients are admitted and 7 patients are newly admitted, 6 is released.

1 each of Sudhapa Tol Kurseong, Nandalal Gaon Mirik, Mahendra gaon, Upper Doomaram Kurseong, MP Road Darjeeling, Reserve forest Mungpoo of GTA area (6) are admitted. 

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

Nil of GTA admitted.

1 each from Mirik and Shantigram,admitted.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of Covid-19 infected people in the district of Darjeeling are, 534 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 571 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1105.

There are 22 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital and one isolation ward of NBMCH outside GTA area, 27 in GTA area and 8 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 59 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
