Regional weather warning

A fresh low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal around 09th October 2020. It is likely to move northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over central Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 24 hours.


KalimNews, 7 October 2020, Kalimpong: West monsoon has been active over Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal. Heavy to very heavy rainoccurred at many places over North Sikkim district of Sikkim. 
Heavy rain occurred at one or two places over Bihar and Alipurduar district of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 
Rain occurred at most places over Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal; at many places over Odisha and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and at a few places over Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. 
Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Odisha coast has become less marked. The associated cyclonic circulation now lies over south Coastal Odisha & neighbourhood and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.  A trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation to eastern parts of Bihar across Gangetic West Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Weather warning for next five days
Tuesday 06 October (DAY1)
1) Heavy to very heavy rain (7-20cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Coochbehar, Alipurduar districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 
2) Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Sikkim and Darjeelling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Malda, North & South Dinajpur districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 
3) Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar, Jharkhand and districts of West Bengal.

Wednesday 07 October (DAY2) :
1) Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar. 
2)Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar and districts of Gangetic West Bengal.

Thursday 08 October (DAY3) : 
1) Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. 
2) Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal.

Friday 09 October (DAY4) : 
1) Heavy to very heavy rain (7-20cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. 
2) Thundersquall with gusty wind with speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Saturday 10 October (DAY5) : 
1) Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim and Alipurduar, Coochbehar districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 
2) Thundersquall with gusty wind with speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman and NicobarIslands.
