One dies in Siliguri

SNS, SILIGURI, 14 OCTOBER 20 : An 85-year-old resident of Malbazaar in Jalpaiguri district, who had tested positive for Covid-I9, died in a private hospital in Siliguri today, sources said.
Meanwhile, Darjeding district recorded 90 fresh Covid cases today, sources said.
The new cases include 30 in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, four in Darjeeling Municipality, four in Kharibari, 10 in Kurseong Municipality, eight in Sukuna, nine in Matigara, one in Mirik, 15 in Naxalbari, six in Phansidewa, one in Pulbazaar-Bijanbari, one in Sukhia Pokhari and one in Takdah.
The Jalpaiguri portion of the SMC aLso detected eight cases, the sources said, adding that 27 patients who recovered were released either from home isolation or Covid hospitals.
A tot al of 130 samples have tested positive for Covid- 19 in Malda district, sources said. Among these, 124 were found through the RT-PCR method at the VRDL, in the Malda Medical College and hospital, while the rest was detected through rapid antigen tests. English Bazaar Municipality area had 30 of the fresh cases, while Habibpur had 21, Kaliachak-III 17 and Gazole 16, the sources said.
