8 death (1 of hills), 2 Officers , 117 in Darjeeling district, 24 in hills, 70 in SMC tests positive

Sonam Wangdi Bhutia Commissioner of SMC and Amit P Javalgi, DIG Darjeeling tested positive. 79 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases during last 24 hrs –5 in Kalimpong, 5 in Darjeeling, 3 in Kurseong, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Mirik, 3 in Takdah, 8 in Sukuna, 13 in Matigara, 18 in Naxalbari, 7 in Phansidewa and 5 in Khoribari ; 93 in Coochbehar, 65 in Alipurduar, 104 in Jalpaiguri, 75 in Malda tested positive.

8 Death:

8 death reported during the last 24 hours in Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district.

Hari Karki, 82 yr old of Darjeeling, Rajnish Patel, 73 yr old of Siliguri  and  Debi Guha, 57 yr old of Bamanpara died in a nursing home of Sevoke Road.

Santosh Burman, 68 yr old (TMC leader) of Falakatta died in a nursing home in Collegepara.

Sunita Saha, 62 yr old of Bhaktinagar died in RICU ward of NBMCH.

Bhimsari Oraon, 64 yr old of Chuhakheli Batabari Matelli , Girindra Das, 62 yr old of Yogindrapur Falakatta died in DESUN SS Covid hospital. 1 died in a hospital in Matigara.

70 of SMC:

70 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation tested positive including Sonam Wangdi Bhutia Commissioner of SMC and Amit P Javalgi  DIG Darjeeling also tested positive.

70 includes 47 of Darjeeling and 23 of Jalpaiguri districts. They are- 9 of Ward no.15 ; 4 of Ward nos. 39, 46 ; 3 of Ward nos. 13, 22, 36;  2 of Ward nos.2, 5, 25, 25,  31, 40, 42, 44, 45 ; 1 of Ward nos.1, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 36, 38, 41,

117 of Darjeeling district:

Of the 117 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 19 are from the Darjeeling hills and they are -5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Mirik, 3 in Takdah. Of the plains they are- 8 in Sukuna, 13 in Matigara, 18 in Naxalbari, 7 in Phansidewa and 5 in Khoribari, tested positive. 

Departments bulletin states Darjeeling district with 125 new cases has 8184 confirmed cases of which 7337 have recovered and 112 died while 735 are active cases. 

5 in Kalimpong: 

5 new cases from Kalimpong Municipality reported, Departments bulletin states Kalimpong district with 15 new cases has 1019 confirmed cases of which 871 have recovered, 7 died and 141 are active cases. 

75 of Malda: 

75 new cases, 91 release reported today from Malda. Departments bulletin Malda with 73 new cases has 7014 confirmed cases of which 6431 have recovered and 56 died and 527 are active cases.

65 of Alipurduar:  
2 died, 65 new cases, 77 released reported. Departments bulletin states Alipurduar with 81 new cases has 4860 confirmed cases of which 4282 have recovered and 56 died while 522 are active cases. 

93 of Coochbehar:  
93 new cases with 115 release reported. Departments bulletin states Coochbehar with 98 new cases has 6047 confirmed cases of which 5299 have recovered, 40 died and 708 are active cases. 

104 of Jalpaiguri:  

1 dead, 104 new cases with 73 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. Departments bulletin states Jalpaiguri with 104 new cases has 6282 confirmed cases of which 60 died while 5661 have recovered and 561 are active cases. 

79 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 79 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and other from Safe homes were discharged today.

NBMCH
22 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 11 patients in Surgical isolation ward, and 7 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward and 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward are admitted.

1 each of Sukhiapokhari,  Kumai and Chhota Suruk Kalimpong admitted.

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital- 2 each of Naya Bazar and Saureni Mirik, 1 each of Krishnanagar Mirik, Dr. Z. Hussain Rd, Ghayabari, Batasia, Kurseong, RN Sinha Road Darjeeling,4 of Mirik, Teesta Valley,Mahanadi, Kutchery Road and 1 each of Tripai, Sadhudhara, of GTA area are admitted.2 released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 95 Covid-19 patients are admitted, 16 are in ICU and 29 patients are newly admitted and 9 released.

1 each of Lower Manju, MH Tea Estate Sukhipokhari, and 40 Dhura,  and Bagdhara Kalimpong of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

55 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 32 are Covid patients. 7 patients are released. 25 patients are being treated in its Safe home.

The number of people in the district of Darjeeling are, 1044 in home quarantine - in Kalimpong district 627 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1671.

There are 23 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 30 in GTA area and 23 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 2 in 1 Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 85 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.
