Major Weathger system over the region
Southwest monsoon been active over Bihar, Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal. Heavy to very heavy rain occurred to one or two places over Bihar. Heavy rain occurred at many places over Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and at one or two places over Jharkhandand Odisha.Rain occurred at most places over Bihar, Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal; at many places over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal; and at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Odisha.
Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over east Bihar & neighbourhood persists and associated cyclonic circulation now extends upto 3.1 km above mean sealevel. It is likely to become less marked by tomorrow.Yesterday’s monsoon trough at mean sealevel now passes through Amritsar, Patiala, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, center of Low Pressure Area over east Bihar & neighbourhood and thence east-north east wards to Arunachal Pradesh across Assam. Yesterday’s trough now runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the Low Pressure Area over east Bihar & neighbourhood to west central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast across northeast Jharkhand and Odisha and extends between 1.5 & 5.8 km above mean sealevel.
