Mirik's first Covid death, 1 of Kalimpong die (10th death of the district),

 

1 each of Mirik and Kalimpong die, 82 recovered from Covid-19, Fresh positive cases – 18 in hills, 57 in SMC during last 24 hrs,  5 in Kalimpong, 3 in Darjeeling, 3 in Kurseong, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Pulbazar, 4 of Mirik and 1 of Takdah . Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna, 11 in Matigara, 24 in Naxalbari, 1 in Phansidewa and 2 in Khoribari, 104 in Coochbehar, 95 in Alipurduar, 80 in Jalpaiguri, 58 in Malda tested positive.

3 Death:

3 deaths reported during the last 24 hours in different dedicated Covid hospitals of Darjeeling district.

Arun Kumar Tamang, 68 yr old of Krishnanagar Mirik died in Dr. Chang Covid Hospital (brought dead).

Bina Tamang, 69 yr old of Kalimpong died in Tribeni Covid Hospital (brought dead)

70 yr old of Bhagalpur Bihar died in Matigara nursing home

57 of SMC:

57 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (41 in Darjeeling and 16 in Jalpaiguri districts) 5 of Ward no.5, 38;  4 each of Ward nos. 14, 38, 46; 3 each of Ward nos. 9, 26; 2 of Ward nos. 13, 20, 35, 39; 1 each of Ward nos.1, 2, 3, 4,  6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 21, 37, 41, 42 tested positive.

103 of Darjeeling district:

1 dead 103 tests positive. Arun Kumar Tamang, 68 yr old of Krishnanagar Mirik died was in home isolation but developed some serious problems and was rushed to Dr. Chang Covid Hospital. On his way to the hospital he died and was declared brought dead)' His death is the first death of the Mirik municipality and second death of the sub division. Earlier, a 70-year-old man of Panighatta had died on 17 August.

Of the 103 tested positive cases of Darjeeling district 41 are from SMC area. Of the rest 62 of the district 18 are from the hills and they are -3 in Darjeeling Municipality (Zakir Hussain Road, Depo Bazar, Kutchery Road) , 3 in Kurseong Municipality (Of Upper Sherpa Busty, Brahmakumari, Upper Dumaram), 2 in Sukhiapokhari (Sonada, Ghoom Road), 5 in Pulbazar (of Mangalpuri, Gairigaon, Suntalay, Thana line), 4 of Mirik and 1 of Takdah. Of the plains they are- 6 in Sukuna (of Sukuna BPHC, Garidhura, Lower Mamring), 11 in Matigara, 24 in Naxalbari (15 of Bengdubi Army camp), 1 in Phansidewa and 2 in Khoribari tested positive. Darjeeling district has 7392 confirmed cases of which 6502 have recovered and 101 died while 789 are active cases. 

12 infected in Kalimpong: 

1 dead with co morbidities, 12 new cases reported 5 of Kalimpong (3 of Jholung, 2 of Simsaray , 1 each of Shermali, Malbusty under Gorubathan). Bina Tamang, 69 yr old of Dhajay Kalimpong died in Tribeni Covid Hospital . She had diabetes and heart ailment. Today she was referred to Tribeni Hospital after testing positive. She died on her way to the hospital and reported brought dead. Her death is 10^th death of the district.

Kalimpong district has 856 confirmed cases of which 691 have recovered, 7 died and 158 are active cases.

58 of Malda: 

58 new cases reported today from Malda. Malda has 6455 confirmed cases of which 5846 have recovered and 54 died and 555 are active cases.

95 of Alipurduar:  

95 new cases, 88 release reported. Alipurduar has 4264 confirmed cases of which 3547 have recovered and 44 died while 673 are active cases. 

104 of Coochbehar:  

104 new cases with 78 release reported. Coochbehar has 5255 confirmed cases of which 4524 have recovered, 33 died and 672 are active cases. 

80 of Jalpaiguri:  

1 dead, Ram Shankar Mahato, 52 yr old of Thaljhora died, 80 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. Jalpaiguri has 5650 confirmed cases of which 53 died while 4958 have recovered and 639 are active cases. 

82 Discharged:

After testing negative and recovery 82 from Dr. Chhang’s SS hospital, Desun Covid hospital and other from Safe homes were discharged today.

NBMCH

6 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients in Surgical isolation ward, 2 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward and 2 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 80 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 3 are newly admitted, 5 released.

2 of Garidhura, 1 each of Meadow Bank Darjeeling, Sonada,  Naya Busty, Tindharia, Lohagudi,  Subedar Busty Kurseong, and 1 each of, Rockvale,  Sadhudhara, Kalimpong and Jaldhaka of GTA area are admitted. 2 of Meadow Bank Darjeeling, 1 each of Dowhill, Barun Busty, Kurseong and Chandraloke Kalimpong released. 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 45 Covid-19 patients are admitted, 11 are in ICU and 5 patients are newly admitted and 8 released.

2 of Tungsung Road Darjeeling, 1 each of MG Road Darjeeling, Dr. KB Abdul Aziz Road, Lamahatta Busty, Nagari, Bhutia Busty and 1 of Kalimpong Bazar of GTA area are admitted. 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

52 patients are admitted of which 13 are in ICU and are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 34 are Covid patients. 6 patients are released.

The number of people in the district of Darjeeling are, 1139 in home quaramtine - in Kalimpong district 653 in home quarantine, the tally of GTA area stands to 1792.

There are 20 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospital outside GTA area, 36 in GTA area and 36 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, 4 in 1 Safe home outside GTA area, the tally of GTA being 96 active cases in Covid hospitals and safe homes.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 7392 confirmed cases of which 6502 have recovered and 101 died while 789 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 856 confirmed cases of which 691- have recovered, 7 died and 158 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 4264 confirmed cases of which 3547 have recovered and 44 died while 673 are active cases.
