KalimNews, Kalimpong, 15 August 2020: Rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal during the last 24 hours is 73.91 percent, but death records highest spike of 60.
In the state
the number of new cases also has been increasing, it has recorded 3074
new cases (1 day before-3035, 2 days before- 2997) as well as 58 death
(1 day before-60, 2 days before- 56) during the last 24 hours.
The total
number of recovery is 2647 (1 day before-2572, 2 days before- 2497) and 113432
confirmed cases (1 day before-110358, 2 days before- 107323) while active cases
is 27219 (1 day before-26850, 2 days before-26447). The death toll from the
disease in the state till now is 2377 (1 day before-2319, 2 days before-2259).
After recovery of the infection 83836 (1 day before-81189, days before- 78617)
Covid patients are released from all the Covid hospitals of the state.

The testing
of swab samples for Covid-19 in 66, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the
last 24 hours 34214 (1 day before-31317, 2 days before-30032) samples were
tested that tally 1282486 (1 day before-1248872, 2 days before- 1216955) till
now since day 1.
In the last
24 hours, 38715 persons (1 day before-34037, 2 days before- 32987) were under
home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 448099 persons (1 day
before-440247, 2 days before- 404788) were in the home quarantine/ observation/
surveillance till today.
Number of
people released from home quarantine was 409384 (1 day-406210, 2 days before- 437775).
Currently in
the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 2672 persons
(1 day before-2696, 2 days before- 2715) and so far from these centres 106703 persons
(1 day before-106642, 2 days before- 106610) were released after recovery.
Currently in
the state there are 84 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 29 Government
Covid hospitals and 55 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
