Record spike of 49 death, 2739 new cases, 75516 confirmed cases, 20631 active cases, 2213 recovery, recovery rate increased to 69.83%.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 August 2020: Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and after 24 days it has again started increasing and during the last 24 hours it is 69.83 percent.

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 2739 new cases (1 day before-2589, 2 days before- 2496) as well as 49 death (1 day before-48, 2 days before- 45) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 2213 (1 day before-2143, 2 days before- 2118) and confirmed cases is 75516 (1 day before-72777, 2 days before- 70188) while active cases is 21108 (1 day before-20631, 2 days before-20233). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1678 (1 day before-1629, 2 days before-1581). After recovery of the infection 52730(1 day before-50517, days before- 48374) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 57, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 21072 (1 day before-20065, 2 days before-19003) samples were tested that tally 934537 (1 day before-913465, 2 days before- 893400) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 33479 persons (1 day before-31229, 2 days before- 32272) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 416937 persons (1 day before-410410, 2 days before- 408464) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 383458 (1 day-379181, 2 days before- 376192).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 3178 persons (1 day before-3169, 2 days before- 3315) and so far from these centres 105592 persons (1 day before-105270, 2 days before- 105131) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 83 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 28 Government Covid hospitals and 55 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
