10 dies of Covid  :  Ratan Sherpa, 80 yr old of Suryanagar Bagdogra; Pramila Saha, 45 yr old of Ward no. 15 Hakimpara; Debjani Das Gupta, 45 yr old of Ward no. 20; Nitai Chandra Saha, 86 yr old of Nayerhat Coochbehar; Jalil Mia, 62 yr old of Ghugumari Coochbehar; Nil Kamal Das, 62 yr old of Milanpalli, Islampur died in Desun hospital (6).

Haradhan Chandra Saha, 52 yr old of Sukantanagar Jalpaiguri died in NBMCH. 

Som Bahadur Tamang 79 yr old of Manabari (Asha Tamang his wife had died of Covid-19 before a week in Siliguri), 50 yr old of Kishangunj and 50 yr old of Childrens Park, Siliguri died in Dr Chhang’s Covid hospital (3).

44 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: During the last 24 hrs 35 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation – 24 under the district of Darjeeling and 11 under Jalpaiguri tested positive. 

58 of Darjeeling district:   Beside 24 of SMC, 31 of the district in different areas such as- 1 of Sukhiapokhari, 3 of Sukuna, 17 of Matigara, 8 of Naxalbari, 2 of Phansidewa and 3 of Khoribari tested positive.

In the district there are 3439 confirmed cases of which 2584 have recovered and 44 died while 811 are active cases.

5 of Kalimpong district: 5 new cases reported today and they are 4 of Rongo and 1 ASI of Kalimpong Traffic Police. During a Rapid antigen test drive done for 85 persons at Rongo, 6 tested positive of which 2 are outsiders staying temporarily as workers. Earlier this week Rapid antigen test for 69 was done at Gairibas on 11 August in which 13 tested positive. During the RT-PCR (Real-Time Reverse Transcription–Polymerase Chain Reaction) test done on 9 August at Gairibas, 17 tested positive. Tally of the Rongo Gairibas area during this week is 36 positive cases.

There are 277 confirmed cases of which 107 have recovered, 1 died and 169 are active cases.

 

66 of Malda:  66 new cases reported today from Malda. There are 3306 Confirmed cases, 2009 have recovered and 21 died and 749 are active cases. 

 

16 of Alipurduar:  16 new cases reported. In the district there are 727 Confirmed cases, 333 recovered, 4 died and 387 active cases. 

 

59 of Coochbehar:  59 new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 1292 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 1006 recovery and 286 active cases 

 

12 of Jalpaiguri: 12 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today. 3 of Malbazar, 2 of Maynaguri, 1 of Dhupguri, 6 of Nagarkatta including BMOH .

In the district there are 1984 confirmed cases of which 1521 have recovered, 14 died and 443 active cases.  

 

58 Discharged: 

After testing negative and recovery, 9 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital and 23 Desun Covid hospital, 6 from Nivedita nursing home and others from Safe homes and home isolation were discharged today.

16 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 1 patient in Isolation ID ward- I, 2 in Surgical Isolation, 3 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 10 in Female -Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted. 

 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 58 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar of which 19 are newly admitted while 9 are released and 3 died. 

8 of Kurseong are admitted.

 

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 47 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 11 patients are newly admitted and 23 are released. 6 patients died here.

1 each from Bagora Kurseong, Dr Zakir Hussain Road Darjeeling, Dudhia and Kurseong are admitted in this hospital. 1 of Ghoom is released.

 

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

49 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 36 are Covid patients.

6 are released.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1179 and in Kalimpong district is 676, the tally of GTA area stands to 1855. 

Altogether there are 8 persons in 1 institutional facility quarantine.

There are 12 Covid patients in 2 Covid hospitals outside GTA area, 61 in GTA area and 66 more Covid patients in 5 Safe Homes of GTA, the tally being 147 as active cases.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 3439 confirmed cases of which 2584 have recovered and 44 died while 811 are active cases.
