District report- Recovery- 33, Death – 4; Detected Positive- 48 of Darjeeling ( 25 of SMC and 23 of other areas- 4 of Kurseong, 1of Sukuna), 62 of Malda, 37 of Jalpaiguri, 10 of Alipurduar, 36 of Coochbehar, tested positive

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 August 2020: 

4 died : 3 of Darjeeling district and 1 of Bihar died within 24 hrs. 

They are Covid patients from Deshbandhupara, Birsingjote of Naxalbari, Sukantapalli of Jalpaiguri and Kishangunj, Bihar.

25 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation: Within the last 24 hrs, 25 Covid-19 positive patients of SMC area tested positive. They are from different wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation located in Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts -5 nos. of Ward No.30; 4 nos. of Ward No.40; 3 nos. of Ward Nos.2, 26, 35; 1 each of Ward Nos.3,10, 25, 27, 28 and 41.

23 others of Darjeeling district: These 23 includes one IPS officer, 4 of Kurseong, 1 of Sukuna, 15 of Matigara, 4 of Naxalbari, 2 of Islampur, 1 of Mal Bazar, and 1 of Kisangunj. VRDL of NBMCH are testing swab samples and sending their test report of all those persons who have given their swab samples in the local hospitals of either Darjeeling district or areas of SMC irrespective of  their permanent residence who belong either to other districts or states.

62 of Malda:  62 new cases reported today from Malda including a MLA and her husband. There are 2628 Confirmed cases, 1734 have recovered and 18 died and 841 are active cases. 

10 of Alipurduar: 10 new cases reported in the districts that includes 5 of Kalchini (2 Civic volunteer and a lottery ticket seller of Jaigaon), 2 boys (13 yr and 8 yr whose parents are positive patients under treatment) of Falakatta. In the district there are 450 Confirmed cases, 283 recovered, 14 died and 207active cases. 

36 of Coochbehar:  36 new cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. A burglary is reported from an infected couple of Mathabhanga who were allowed for Safe home isolation. The complete report of the district is 1032 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 795 recovery and 234 active cases 

37 of Jalpaiguri:  37 new cases reported from Jalpaiguri today.It includes 7 of Matelli ( Chalsa) including a 9 month child, 5 police personnel of Rajgunj., 1 of Mal In the district there are 1583 confirmed cases of which 1190 have recovered, 11 died and 381 active cases.

32 Discharged: 

After testing negative twice and recovery, 7 patients from Dr. Chhang’s Covid Super specialty hospital, 21 from Desun Covid hospital and others from Safe homes were discharged today.

NBMCH

25 suspected Covid patients are admitted in three Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

There are 1 patient in Isolation ward-I,  9 patients in Surgical Isolation ward, 6 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), and 9 in Gynecological Isolation ward are admitted 

DR. CHHANG'S SS Covid Hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 64 patients are admitted today in this hospital at Himanchal Vihar. 2 of Kurseong are admitted. 

1 of Kurseong released.

DESUN Covid Hospital

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 57 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 15 patients are being treated in ICU. 1 of Kurseong is admitted in this hospital.

1 each of Convent Road, Darjeeling, and Sittong are released.

NIVEDITA Nursing Home

49 patients are being treated in Isolation ward of this hospital. Of these 35 are Covid patients.

5 are released.

QUARANTINE CENTRES AND SAFE HOMES

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 955 and in Kalimpong district is 588, the tally of GTA area stands to 1543. 

Altogether there are 44 persons in 3 institutional facility quarantines and 40 in 4 Safe Homes of GTA.

Number of Covid patients in the eight districts of North Bengal

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 2750 confirmed cases of which 1918 have recovered and 34 died while 798 are active cases. 

Similarly Kalimpong district has 111 confirmed cases of which 81 have recovered, 1 died and 29 are active cases. 

Alipurduar has 546 confirmed cases of which 323 have recovered and 4 died while 219 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri has 1641 confirmed cases of which 13 died while 1199 have recovered and 429 are active cases. 

Coochbehar has 11137 confirmed cases of which 740 have recovered, 0 died and 397 are active cases. 

Malda has 2802 confirmed cases of which 2have recovered and 16 died and 626 are active cases.

Uttar Dinajpur has 1277 confirmed cases of which 1086 have recovered and 13 died and 178 are active cases.

Dakshin Dinajpur has 1649 confirmed cases of which 1109 have recovered and 11 died and 529 are active cases.
