West Bengal records alarming 1088 new cases, 27 death, 535 recovery - rate decreased to 64.93 %, 25911 confirmed cases and 8231 active cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 64.93 percent.  

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has made a record 1088 new cases (1 day before-986, 2 days before- 850) as well as record 27 death (1 day before-23, 2 days before- 25) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 535 (1 day before-501, 2 days before- 555) and confirmed cases is 25911 (1 day before-24823, 2 days before- 23837) while active cases is 8231 (1 day before-7705, 2 days before-7243). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 854 (1 day before-827, 2 days before- 824).

After recovery of the infection 16826 (1 day before-16291, days before- 15790) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 52, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 10805 (1 day before-10386, 2 days before-10130) samples were tested that tally 583328 (1 day before-572523, 2 days before- 562137) till now since day 1.   

In the last 24 hours, 34595 persons (1 day before-36824, 2 days before- 38614) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 343725 persons (1 day before-341543, 2 days before- 335810) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 309130 (1 day before-304719, 2 days before- 298810).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are   5090 persons (1 day before-5152, 2 days before- 5294) and so far from these centres 100095 persons (1 day before-99634, 2 days before- 99338) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
