2 dies in Siliguri, 25 released, 27 of Siliguri, 2 of Darjeeling Municipality, 40 of Jalpaiguri, 44 of Malda, tested positive to Covid -19

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 July 2020: 

2 died in Siliguri: Mahadev Pal 43 yrs of Ward no.37, Assi Ghar died this early morning in Dr. Chhang SS Covid hospital.Dolly Sarkar 52 yrs old of Ward no.19 died today in RICU ward of NBMCH. 

From today for seven days lock down has been started in nine wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation which are recognised as Containment zones. They are Ward numbers 2, 4, 5, 28, 46, 37, 38, 39 and 43.

27 tested positive: 27 of Siliguri M Corporation tested positive- They are 7 of Ward no.4 (13, 19, 32, 35, 36, 44, 50 yrs old), 2 of Ward no.40 (26, 50 yrs old), 2 of Ward no.46 (28, 54 yrs old), Ward no.5 (65 yr old  patient died on 7th), Ward no.9 (45 yr old- a staff of a nursing home), Ward no.10 (56 yr old), Ward no.16 (46 yr old), Ward no.20 (40 yr old), Ward no.29 (36 yr old), Ward no.31 (36 yr old), Ward no.37 (53 yr old), Ward no.38 (34 yr old), 19 yr old of Ward no.42 Salugara, 52 yr old of NJP, 32 yr old and 22 yr old of Mallaguri and one from Ward no.30.

Beside these 5 army personnel of Bengdubi also tested positive today.

2 of Darjeeling Municipality area tested positive.

25 Released: 25 patients after recovery are released from three Covid hospitals of which 11 were from Desun hospital.

Malda:  44 new cases reported today from Malda. So far 5 patients died in Malda of which 3 death are from Kaliachak and maximum infected are from English Bazar.SDO, IC and 5 police personnel of a police station,  

Several officers including health and police personnel are infected of the virus. Strict lockdown will be implemented in Englishbazar from 8 July. There are 945 Confirmed cases, 543 have recovered and 6 died and 396 are active cases. 

Jalpaiguri:  40 new cases from Jalpaiguri reported today. In the district there are 467 confirmed cases of which 329 have recovered, 4 died and 83 active cases.

Coochbehar:  No new cases of Covid 19 infection reported today. The complete report of the district is 313 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 296 recovery and 6 active cases. 

Alipurduar:   No new case reported from Birpara of Alipurduar. In the district there are 194 Confirmed cases, 166 recovered and 28 active cases. 

NBMCH

There are 17 patients in the three Isolation Ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). 6 patients in Isolation Ward-1, 4 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU), 1 patient in pediatric ward  and 6 patients in Gynecological Isolation unit are admitted. 

I of Jaldhaka is admitted at Isolation ward of NBMCH.

Covid hospital 

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 72 patients are admitted today. 

1 patient died today.

DESUN hospital

DESUN hospital is the second Covid hospital of Darjeeling district. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 38 Covid-19 patients are admitted of which 11 are in ICU.  

   

Tribeni Hospital

There are 1 patient of Darjeeling and 1 of Kalimpong today in Triveni hospital.

4 of Darjeeling and Kalimpong are released today.

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

12 patients are admitted in Hatighisa Safe House. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 July 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1506 and in Kalimpong district is 1184, the tally of GTA area stands to 2690. 

Altogether there are 103 persons in 5 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 684 confirmed cases of which 440 have recovered and 10 died while 234 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 56 confirmed cases of which 51 have recovered, 1 died and 4 are active cases. Alipurduar has 190 confirmed cases of which 179 have recovered while 11 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 414 confirmed cases of which 2 died while 329 have recovered and 83 are active cases. CoochBehar has 311 confirmed cases of which 305 have recovered and 6 are active cases. Malda has 909 confirmed cases of which 592 have recovered and 4 died and 313 are active cases.
