State reports - record 21 death, 895 new cases and 545 recovery

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 July 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 66.48 percent though the number of new cases is increasing in a slow rate. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the state 895 new cases (1 day before-743, 2 days before- 669) as well as 21 death (1 day before-19, 2 days before-18) and 545 recovery (1 day before-595, 2 days before-534) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 22126 (1 day before-21231, 2 days before-20488) while active cases is 6658 (1 day before-6329, 2 days before-6200). The death toll from the disease till now is 757 (1 day before-736, 2 days before-717).

After recovery of the infection 14711 (1 day before-14166, days before-13571) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 66.48%.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 52, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 11016 (1 day before-11018, 2 days before-11053) samples were tested that tally 541088 (1 day before-530072, 2 days before-519054) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours,41349 persons (1 day before-49273, 2 days before-51770) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 328579 persons (1 day before-324903, 2 days before-321394) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 287230 (1 day before-275630, 2 days before-269624).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 5690 persons (1 day before-6057, 2 days before- 6287) and so far from these centres 98563 persons (1 day before-98037, 2 days before-97807) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
