State records 65.78%. recovery - 509 recovery, 619 new cases, 16 death, 6083 active cases, 19819 confirmed cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 July 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 65.78 percent though the number of new cases is increasing in a slow rate. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In the state 619 new cases (1 day before-611, 2 days before- 652) as well as  16 death (1 day before-15, 2 days before-15) and 509 recovery (1 day before-398, 2 days before-411) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 19819 (1 day before-19170, 2 days before-18559) while active cases is 6083 (1 day before-5959, 2 days before-5761). The death toll from the disease till now is 699 (1 day before-683, 2 days before-668).

After recovery of the infection 13037 (1 day before-12528, days before-12130) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 65.78%.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 51, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 10405 (1 day before-9558, 2 days before-9619) samples were tested that tally 508001 (1 day before-497596, 2 days before-488038) till now since day 1.   

In the last 24 hours, 53903 persons (1 day before-59658, 2 days before-65990) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 317875 persons (1 day before-316032, 2 days before-313603) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 263972 (1 day before-256374, 2 days before-247613).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 6449 persons (1 day before-6668, 2 days before- 6795) and so far from these centres 97290 persons (1 day before-96702, 2 days before-96162) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
