1 dead, 31 tested positive including 1 police inspector and police personnel, 28 of Malda tested positive, no cases in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Coochbehar.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 July 2020: 

Siliguri: 

1 dead: 56 year old Covid patient of  Deshbandhupara died in a nursing home of Hill Cart Road. He was a teacher by profession.

31 tested positive: 29 who tested positive today are from different wards of Siliguri Municipal corporation and it includes 2 police personnel. One is a inspector of Siliguri Metropiltan Police while another is a constable of Siliguri Court.

Other 2 are from Salbari- Salugara and Naxalbari.

Ashok Bhattacharya, Ex Mayor and present Chairman of SMC is clinically and Haemodynamically stable. He is accepting food orally and has been mobilised out of bed. His oxygen support is now very minimal. He is presently under close monitoring in ICU for vital parameters. Clinically he is stable and improved significantly improved. His repeat COVID 19 test has been done today and he tested negative twice.

Gurung Busty is being closed from 4^th to 13^th July 2020. Its main road will be barricaded.

Recovery: 36 patients released from three Covid hospitals. 3 are from GTA area.

They were released from Desun Covid hospital, Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital and Triveni Hospital (3 of GTA) and 1 of Hatighisa safe home.

Malda: 28 new cases reported from Malda. There are 676 Confirmed cases, 400 recovered and 276 active cases.

Alipurduar:   No new case reported from Alipurduar. In the district there are 188 Confirmed cases, 134 recovered and 54 active cases. Most of the quarantine centres are closed.

Jalpaiguri:  No new case from Jalpaiguri. Tally of district is 354 Confirmed cases of which 290 have recovered, 4 died and 60 are active cases.

Coochbehar:  No new case of Covid 19 infection reported since two days. The complete report of the district is 297 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 292 recovery and 4 active cases. 

NBMCH

There are 18 patients in the three Isolation ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). 11 patients in Isolation ward-1, 2 patients in Surgical Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU) and 2 patients in Gynecological Isolation unit are admitted. 

48 beded SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness) ward has been started from yesterday in NBMCH.

Covid hospital

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 50 patients are admitted today. 1 patient is from Kalimpong.

DESUN hospital

DESUN hospital is the second Covid hospital of Darjeeling district. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 35 Covid-19 patients are admitted. 

Tribeni Hospital

3 patients of Kalimpong and 1 of Darjeeling are admitted today while 3 are released and 5 were already there in this Covid hospital.

There are 3 patients of Darjeeling and 3 of Kalimpong today.

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

1 patient of Gorubathan of GTA with asymptomatic Covid positive diagnosis is released from Hatighisa Safe House. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 July 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1715 and in Kalimpong district is 1180, the tally of GTA area stands to 2895. 

Altogether there are 64 persons in 7 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 528 confirmed cases of which 301 have recovered and 10 died while 217 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 55 confirmed cases of which 48 have recovered, 1 died and 6 are active cases. Alipurduar has 186 confirmed cases of which 175 have recovered while 11 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 364 confirmed cases of which 1 died while 294 have recovered and 69 are active cases. CoochBehar has 305 confirmed cases of which 300 have recovered and 5 are active cases. Malda has 706 confirmed cases of which 431 have recovered and 1 died and 268 are active cases.
