Record spike of 36 death, 2278 new cases, 42487 confirmed cases, 16492 active cases, 1344 recovery, recovery rate decreased from 66.72% to 58.56% .

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it had reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 58.56 percent. 

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 2278 new cases (1 day before-2198, 2 days before- 1894) as well as 36 death (1 day before-27, 2 days before- 26) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 1344 (1 day before-1286, 2 days before- 838) and confirmed cases is 42487 (1 day before-40209, 2 days before- 38011) while active cases is 16492 (1 day before-15594, 2 days before-14709). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1112 (1 day before-1076, 2 days before-1049).

After recovery of the infection 24883 (1 day before-23539, days before- 22253) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 54, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 13471 (1 day before-13465, 2 days before-13240) samples were tested that tally 703284 (1 day before-689813, 2 days before- 676348) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 31320 persons (1 day before-29603, 2 days before- 27410) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 376941 persons (1 day before-373105, 2 days before- 369550) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 345621 (1 day before-343102, 2 days before- 342140).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 3732 persons  (1 day before-3806, 2 days before- 3839) and so far from these 103348 persons (1 day before-103315, 2 days before-) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 81 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 27 Government Covid hospitals and 54 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
