Record spike of 35 death, 2216 new cases, 53973 confirmed cases, 19154 active cases, 1873 recovery, recovery rate 62.12% .

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing but presently its slowly again increasing and during the last 24 hours it is 62.12 percent. 

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 2216 new cases (1 day before-2436, 2 days before- 2291) as well as 35  death (1 day before-34, 2 days before- 39) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 1873 (1 day before-2006, 2 days before- 1615) and confirmed cases is 53973 (1 day before-51757, 2 days before- 49321) while active cases is 19154 (1 day before-18846, 2 days before-18450). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1290 (1 day before-1255, 2 days before-1221). After recovery of the infection 33529 (1 day before31656, days before- -29650) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 56, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 15485 (1 day before-14558, 2 days before-14040) samples were tested that tally 773512(1 day before-758027, 2 days before- 743469) till now since day 1.  

In the last 24 hours, 31219 persons (1 day before-32140, 2 days before- 31320) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 390359 persons (1 day before-388280, 2 days before- 385459) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 359140 (1 day-356140, 2 days before- 354139).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 3402 persons (1 day before-3423, 2 days before- 3489) and so far from these centres 104304 persons (1 day before-104098, 2 days before- 103997) were released after recovery.

Currenty in the state there are 81 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 27 Government Covid hospitals and 54 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
