Record spike of 34 death, 2436 new cases, 51757 confirmed cases, 18846 active cases, 2006 recovery, recovery rate decreased from 66.72% to 61.16%

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 61.16 percent.

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 2436 new cases (1 day before-2291, 2 days before- 2261) as well as 34 death (1 day before-39, 2 days before- 35) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 2006 (1 day before-1615, 2 days before- 1617) and confirmed cases is 51757 (1 day before-49321, 2 days before- 47030) while active cases is 18846 (1 day before-18450, 2 days before-17813). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1255 (1 day before-1221, 2 days before-1182).

After recovery of the infection 31656 (1 day before 29650, days before- -28035) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 56, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 14558 (1 day before-14040, 2 days before-13064) samples were tested that tally 758027 (1 day before-743469, 2 days before- 729429) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 32140 persons (1 day before-31320, 2 days before- 32304) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 388280 persons (1 day before-385459, 2 days before- 382434) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 356140 (1 day-354139, 2 days before- 350130).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 3423 persons (1 day before-3489, 2 days before- 3687) and so far from these centres 104098 persons (1 day before-103997, 2 days before- 103645) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 81 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 27 Government Covid hospitals and 54 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
