Record spike of 1894 new cases, 38011 confirmed cases, 14709 active cases, 838 recovery, recovery rate decreased from 66.72% to 58.54% in just 13 days

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 July 2020 : Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it has reached upto 66.72%, from the very day it has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 58.54 percent.

In the state the number of new cases also has been increasing and during the last 24 hours it has 1894 new cases (1 day before-1690, 2 days before- 1589) as well as 26 death (1 day before-23, 2 days before- 20) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery is 838 (1 day before- 735, 2 days before- 749) and confirmed cases is 38011 (1 day before- 36117, 2 days before- 34427) while active cases is 14709 (1 day before- 13679, 2 days before- 12747). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 1049 (1 day before- 1023, 2 days before- 1000).

After recovery of the infection 22253 (1 day before- 21415, days before- 20680) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 54, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 13240 (1 day before- 13180, 2 days before-11388) samples were tested that tally 676348 (1 day before- 663108, 2 days before- 649928) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 27410 persons (1 day before- 25380, 2 days before- 24303) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 369550 persons (1 day before- 366519, 2 days before- 362594) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 342140 (1 day before- 341139, 2 days before- 338291).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 3839 persons (1 day before- 4027, 2 days before- 4033) and so far from these centres 102846 persons (1 day before- 102600, 2 days before- 101999) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 81 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 27 Government Covid hospitals and 54 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
