Record increase in new cases to - 1560, confirmed cases- 30013, active cases -10500, recovery - 622 and death - 26

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 12 July 2020 : The sudden rise in the number of new cases and death has alarmed the state administration and helath officials. Since 5th July the rate of recovery of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has been decreasing. On 4th July it was 66.72%. 

From that very day the rate of recovery has been decreasing and during the last 24 hours it is 61.9 percent with increase in the new cases to 1560 (1 day before-1344, 2 days before- 1198) and recovery to 622 (1 day before-611, 2 days before- 522) and death to 26 (1 day before-26, 2 days before- 26) in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hrs, confirmed cases is 30013 (1 day before-28453, 2 days before- 27109) while active cases is 10500 (1 day before-9588, 2 days before-8881). The death toll from the disease in the state till now is 932 (1 day before-906, 2 days before- 880). 

After recovery of the infection 18581 (1 day before-, days before- 17959) Covid patients are released from the hospital.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 52, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 11709 (1 day before-11403, 2 days before-10639) samples were tested that tally 617079 (1 day before-605370, 2 days before- 593967) till now since day 1.  

In the last 24 hours, 30839 persons (1 day before-32460, 2 days before- 34254) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 356020 persons (1 day before-352067, 2 days before- 347973) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 325181 (1 day before-319607, 2 days before- 313719).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 4752 persons (1 day before-4805, 2 days before- 4905) and so far from these centres 100891 persons (1 day before-100634, 2 days before- 100356) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 80 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 26 Government Covid hospitals and 54 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
