Record 861 new cases with 22 death and 6973 active cases and 22987 confirmed cases in the state

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 July 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 66.27 percent though the number of new cases is increasing in a slow rate. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the state 861 new cases (1 day before-895, 2 days before- 743) as well as 22 death (1 day before-21, 2 days before-19) and 524 recovery (1 day before-545, 2 days before-534) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 22987 (1 day before-22126, 2 days before-21231) while active cases is 6973 (1 day before-6658, 2 days before-6329). The death toll from the disease till now is 779 (1 day before-757, 2 days before-736).

After recovery of the infection 15235 (1 day before-14711, days before-14166) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 66.27%.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 52, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 10919 (1 day before-11016, 2 days before-11018) samples were tested that tally 552007 (1 day before-541088, 2 days before-530072) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 41520 persons (1 day before- 41349, 2 days before-49273) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 335810 persons (1 day before-328579, 2 days before-324903) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 294290 (1 day before-287230, 2 days before-275630).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 5605 persons (1 day before-5690, 2 days before-6057) and so far from these centres 99027 persons (1 day before-98563, 2 days before-98037) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
