In the state Recovery rate increased to 66.23%... record 18 death, 669 new cases, 20488 confirmed cases, 6200 active cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 3 July 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 66.23 percent though the number of new cases is increasing day by day. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the state record 18 death (1 day before-16, 2 days before-15) as well as 669 new cases (1 day before-619, 2 days before- 611) and 534 recovery (1 day before-509, 2 days before-398) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 20488 (1 day before-19819, 2 days before-19170) while active cases is 6200 (1 day before-6083, 2 days before-5959). The death toll from the disease till now is 717 (1 day before-699, 2 days before-683).

After recovery of the infection 13571 (1 day before-13037, days before-12528) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 66.23%.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 51, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 11053 (1 day before-10405, 2 days before-9558) samples were tested that tally 519054 (1 day before-508001, 2 days before-497596) till now since day 1.

In the last 24 hours, 51770 persons (1 day before-53903, 2 days before-59658) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 321394 persons (1 day before-317875, 2 days before-316032) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 269624 (1 day before-263972, 2 days before-256374).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 6287 persons (1 day before-6449, 2 days before- 6668) and so far from these centres 97807 persons (1 day before-97290, 2 days before-96702) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
